Bob & Lyle Vasser of Salisbury, Missouri are a father and son team that have been in the hobby since the 70's. Bob is the builder while son Lyle is the painter and flyer in the family. Here the whole family poses with a Ziroli B-25J with two Zenoah G26's for power, it is covered in glass and painted in latex. Lyle uses Futaba for control of this 33lb model. This model won 1st place in Team Scale at the Mid States Scale Masters qualifier in Hillsdale KS, this summer 08. With this aircraft and my Expert Class P-51 entry they also won the 2008 Sunflower State Scale Champion award. One interesting thing of note: When it came time to finish out the cockpit, I couldn't find adequate pilot figures in 1/8 or 1/9 scale. Since I have an art/design background, I decided to create my own. The pilots I created have been a hit, for they get almost as much attention at the fly-ins as the plane!
