Jim Suchy from Brecksville, Ohio shows his Ziroli Dauntless. It weighs 30 lbs. and is powered by a G62. Finish is water-based Polycrylic/1oz. glass cloth and is painted with Behr latex housepaint, with a final clearcoat of Minwax satin polyurethane. Cockpit is scratch built and the model has a working bomb drop. Retracts are by Robart.

Tom Pierce shows his Jerry Bates Plans 17% Scale SBD-5 Dauntless. 85" wingspan, 26 pounds, First Place Engines 52cc gasser, Robart Retracts, Hitec RX and Servos, 3/4oz cloth, Minwax PolyCrylic. Latex Paint. Tom won First Place in the Military Scale Division at the Toledo Show, and also won "Best of Show" with it. This is Tom's first scale plane! Jim Greenly from Minnesota with his beautiful Dauntless dive bomber. Built from 200 percent enlarged Ziroli plans with 120" wingspan. Weight is 50 pounds. Plane features home made retracts, flaps/divebrakes, full cockpit/gunner with pilots. Power is a 7.3 Husky with a 26x12 prop. Has all panel lines and rivets and painted with semi-gloss house latex paint.

John Niezelski Sr. from St James City Fl with this great looking Ziroli Douglas Dauntless SBD 3.Wingspan is 101", weight 42 lbs, powered by a Zenoah G74. Fiberglassed and painted with PPG auto paint. Has operating flaps, dive brakes, and bomb drop and retracts. Controlled by a Futaba 8UAP transmitter and two PCM recievers and two 1400 mah batterys and 12 servos. Like all Ziroli's it is a dream to fly. Uses 20% flap on takeoff and 40% landing.(click on the picture for a larger image)
   
Doug Imes from Geendale Wisconsin flies this beautiful SBD Dauntless dive bomber. Doug scratch built her from Bates plans and used balsa, spruce and foam with a glass overlay for construction. With fuel and bomb she weighs 40lbs and has a 101" wingspan. A Zenoah 445 gets her safely to the target. (Click on picture to see more).
