Carl Bachhuber shows us his scratch built version of Harry Truman's Douglas DC-6(VC-118) "The Independence" which resides in the Presidential Hanger in Dayton. It is about 13% of scale with a WS of 180" and a weight of about 95lbs. The plane is powered by G-26's with scratch built retracts and Robart brakes. Larry Sigel shows his Top Flite C-47. Larry uses Saito 56 four cycles in this 13 pound 80.5 inch troop carrier. Retracts are by Robart and she has flaps as well. (Click on picture to see more)
   
  Russ Miller Miller from Arkansas drove 500 miles to fly this great looking and flying DC-3. Russ's DC-3 is made from a Top Flite kit and weighs 10lbs, with an 83" wingspan. Two Magnum 30 four cycles pull it while Robart retracts roll it. Russ flies this plane very realistically and modeled it after a real DC-3 he flew. (Click on picture to see more)
