A hot, hazy day greeted us as we drove down a long and
very bumpy temporary road to get to the main event. This picture
shows only half of the hundreds of tents and sun shades. This
is placed in a back area of the museum grounds and an old runway
was put to good use. The area was very large and the trees you
see were very far away. |
|
The first plane we saw was Don Albright's
B-29 (who could miss it!).
|
|
Don's B-29 comes in at 96lbs. with a 20' wingspan! |
Four Quadra 100's turn scale four blade props for the
ultimate in realism. Homemade retracts and dual bomb bay doors
fill out Don's B-29 profile. |
|
|
Don Albright prepares for another bombing run. This
is a great flying airplane. |
|
Matt Miller from Massillon Ohio strikes a pose behind his
magnificent B-17
|
|
Matt Miller with crew, assembles his B-17. This beauty
comes in at 100lbs. with an 18 foot wingspan. Four G-38's provide
the go and Matt says more power would be better. |
Matt's B-17 flies scale speeds and looks very real in
the air. Bombs Away! |
