Fuse is taking shape as more sheeting is applied. Fuse is now cut free from the workbench and sitting on it's on custom stand made by Randy using a hot wire foam cutter.

Randy contemplates the bombay door construction. You can see that the doors will have several compound curves to work out.

Fuse stab and fin attachment fairing are sheeted and shaped.

Another view of the fuse stab attachment sheeting and fairing.

Randy shows his "engine test stand" for our B-17 project. We will have two of these planes to test fuel systems, on board glow systems, pumps and to break in the four RCV91-CD engines. Running times will be noted so all engines will get equal time.

More sheeting has been applied.

Tail surfaces are nearing completion.

Randy added a piece of hardwood with a slot for the elevator end pin to slid into. This will keep the elevator end in place during movement.

The intricate compound curved bombay doors are completed and working and forward of them is a radio hatch for rx and switches. This hatch is secured with a magnet and for flight a wire is inserted from the bombay door for more insurance.

Radio hatch open.

Bombay doors open, notice the scale hinging and shape.

Another view of the open bombay doors. You can see the servo and actuating arms.

Randy has started on the wing and is test fitting engines and fuel tanks.

Randy says the wing builds fast and easy. Inboard engine and fuel tank set in for fit.

Here is another picture of the inboard fuel tank location (wing pulled out of fuse mounting a couple of inches for clarity). Inboard is difficult because landing gear will take up extra nacelle space. The outboard tank will be located in the nacelle.

Our fiberglass parts have arrived and Randy test fit the top turtle deck. This deck will be removable to reach the radio and other electronics.

Another view of the top deck. As you can see the windows and turret areas are defined.

The rear gunner tail section

This is the front lower gun turret and chin piece. We will not be using this on our F model. All the fiberglass is first class and a perfect fit.
