Tom Favorin from Quakertown, PA with his Byron Mustang. The Byron P51 has a fiberglass fuse and one piece fiberglass cloth over foam wing. Byron retracts on the mains and tailwheel, powered by a Byron "Byro Reduction Drive," turning a 23 inch 4 bladed prop. The plane weighs in at 26 lbs. Love those large four blade props ! Bert Hahn from Edinburg Texas shows off his red tailed P-51. Burt scratched this from enlarged Great Plains 40 sized plans. A Q 52, Robart retracts and JR radio keep this 86" wingspan Mustang airborne. ( click on picture to see larger image )

Gilbert Wheeler from Loveland Colorado poses with his Ziroli Tuskgegee P-51 Mustang. This red tailed warbird uses a Byron Mustang 5.0 engine to pull it's 30lbs, 96" wingspan with ease. Balsa with fiberglass cloth were used for construction, then painted with LT Col Leo Gray's markings .. (click on picture to see more)
   
Rob Bailey from Oak Ridge, New Jersey WS: 102" with his Nosen P-51. Built by Sonny Burr, using built-up ply and balsa construction and fiberglass finish, this warrior features 102" wingspan, Likes Line retracts (electric) and a Quadra 75. Lenny Smith Jr from Kenner, La with his American Eagle P51D. It features a glass fuse and foam core design with an 86in wing. It has a PPG base/clear paint job done in the Cripes A Mighty scheme. Engine is a US41 with a Q52 carb and header pipe. Robart retracts and Futaba radio finish up this nice warbird. (click on picture to see more)
   
Lenny Smith from Kenner, La proudly displays his great looking American Eagle P51B. It is glass/foam construction with PPG base/clear finish. Power is a Q52 with a 2.5in. prop hub to keep the engine inside the cowl. Retracts are Robart with Futaba handling the communications.Wingspan is 86in. and all up weight is 22lbs. "Very easy to fly and land and plenty power over the top" says Lenny. (click on picture to see more)
   
Roger Hess from Springfield, Ohio shows off a good looking Top Flite P-51. Roger used Ultracoat over balsa and ply construction. The Mustang weighs 25lbs and has an 84 1/2" wingspan. A Zenoah G-62 gives it plenty of forward momentum. (click on picture to see more)
   
Bob Campbell from N. Canton, Ohio is dwarfed by his 12 foot wingspan P-51. Bob's incredible 1/3 scale mustang is scratch built from balsa sheeted foam. Aluminum tape gives it the metal finish. This plane is huge and performs with power to spare with a 240cc inline twin up front. A great looking and flying Mustang. (click on picture to see more)
   
Drake Edwards from Raleigh, NC. and his "Big Beautiful Doll" P-51. "Doll" is built from a Nosen kit and weighs 45lbs and has a 102" wingspan. A Precision Eagle 8.4 inline twin makes her go. (click on picture to see more)
   
David Parr from Newman, GA with a very nice looking P-51 Mustang. David used a Fiberclassics kit and came out at 32lbs with a 105" wingspan. A Husky Challenger 4.4 spins the prop on this warbird. David says "it flies like a trainer." (click on picture to see more)
   
Cory Johnson of Owatonna Minn. is mostly hidden by his large Bud Nosen P-51 Mustang. Cory used Monocote on this beauty. This warbird features a 102" wingspan and weighs 33lbs.Twelve year old Cory is our youngest warbird pilot so far. Great job Cory! (click on picture to see more)
   
Merlin D. Gorowsky from St. Paul Minn. proudly displays his Top Flight P-51 Mustang constructed of balsa and ply with monocote covering. This red tail Mustang weighs 26lbs and has an 84.5 wingspan. Merlin used a Zeno G-62 for power. He says the Mustang was easy to build and flies like a trainer. (click on picture to see more)
   
Steve Gawlik from Downers Grove Ill. flies this nice looking Byron P-51. The construction is fiberglass and foam glassed and painted. A Q-42 turns that great Byron four blade. The wingspan is 87" and she weighs 23lbs. (Click on picture to see more)
   
Paul Costello from St. Paul Min. gets ready to start his Top Flight P-51. Balsa construction and Ultracoat covering help weigh it in at 26lbs. A G-38 pulls it's 85" wingspan around just fine. (Click on picture to see more)
   
John and Debbie Howe from Hanover Park Ill. show off their great looking Nosen P-51. Conventional construction finished with fiberglass and paint. Only 26lbs with a 102" wingspan and a Quadra 65 to make it happen. Johns says this bird flies great. (Click on picture to see more)
   
Dennis D. Crooks from Greencastle Ind. proudly displays one very nice Mustang. A Ziroli design with built up wing and glass fuse. Finishing is by Sikkens Auto and it looks great. Wingspan is 96" and weight comes in at 45lbs. A Husky Challenger 5.4 twin really gives this warbird a unique sound and plenty of power. (Click on picture to see more)
   
Jeff Quesenberry's Twin Mustang is produced from two Top Flight kits. Two G-38's fly it with meaning and at only 28lbs it flys fast and nimble. Robart retracts help with the ground stuff. Wingspan is 115" on this striking warbird. Jeff flew this at the Sig 50th anniversary fun fly and it stole the show. (Click on picture to see more)
   
Jimmy Banana's Byron Mustang is one of the best Byron Mustangs I have seen. Jimmy's attention to detail and scale finish has made this one a real stand out. This beauty comes in at 26lbs and uses a Sachs 3.7 to chase 109's. (Click on picture to see more)
